Formed and based here in Liverpool in 2003, the BeatLife percussion troupe combine Afro-Brazilian and Cuban groves with modern urban beats to create a truly international sound. Working with young people from schools across Liverpool as well as their families, BeatLife provides long-term opportunities for learning percussion inside and outside school.
BeatLife have become firm favourites at Africa Oyé – they celebrate their 10th year with us in 2015 – and the band have played at festivals around the world traveling to places as diverse as Portugal, Norway, Malawi and many more besides.
